Adult Hand-building Class | 10 weeks
$823.50

Get your hands dirty in this weekly hand-building class. Hand-building is the art of making clay forms on a tabletop instead of a wheel – mugs, vases, bowls, other vessels and sculptures can all be hand built. Beginners will learn pinch pots, coiling, slab building and surface decoration. If you are more advanced in your practice, we will use this time to hone your basic skills or elevate your skill set with weekly guidance. This class is for you if you want a chance to try a clay class, have only take 1 or 2 handbuilding classes, or want guidance in your own handbuilding practice.

Adult Independent Practice | 10 Weeks
$823.50

This class welcomes both wheel and hand-building students and is focused on self-directed, individual projects. My role during this time is to support you through concept-driven discussions, deepen your understanding of clay as a craft, and introduce you to a range of artists in the ceramic field.

Instead of regular technique demonstrations, the class will include slideshows, readings, and listening selections. You are welcome to enroll if you already have experience working with clay and are interested in pursuing your own projects with guidance. While I will provide hands-on support, the emphasis of this class is conceptual development rather than foundational instruction.

This is not a beginner-level class, and acceptance into class is based on experience and interest.
